The fashion industry has never had a shortage of magazines. What it has had a shortage of is publications that explain the industry to the people trying to build careers and businesses inside it.
That’s what Fashion 4Eleven is for.
What Fashion 4Eleven is
We are a quarterly print publication with a weekly editorial cadence online. We cover fashion in its widest possible frame — designers, models, photographers, stylists, makeup and hair professionals, creative directors, agencies, manufacturers, retailers, educators, attorneys, accountants and the emerging professionals working their way toward all of the above.
Our editorial mission is built on four questions we ask about every story:
- What happened?
- Why does it matter?
- Who is affected?
- What opportunities or challenges could it create?
And one that runs underneath all of them:
What should emerging professionals know?
That last question is the one most fashion publications don’t ask often enough. It’s the one we’re going to keep asking.
What we’re not
We are not another trend report. If AI begins reshaping fashion photography — which, incidentally, it is — we’re not going to publish a piece telling you that AI is trending. That piece has already been written by everyone. We’re going to publish the piece that explains what it means for photographers, for the models whose likenesses are being trained on, for the makeup artists whose bookings are getting cancelled, for the agencies rewriting their model releases in real time, and for the creative directors trying to figure out what to hire humans for now.
That’s the difference between covering fashion and helping people navigate the fashion industry.
We are also not a gatekeeper. Fashion has enough of those. Our Emerging Talent File exists to find the next generation before they become widely recognized — not after. Our Fashion Funding Watch exists to explain grants and fellowships in enough detail that an applicant can actually put together a competitive submission, not so we can name-drop the programs at parties.
What you’ll find in the first issue
Volume 01 launches with:
- The full 2026 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund report — the ten finalists, the money involved, and what previous winners actually did with the mentorship
- A first Emerging Talent profile drawn from the CFDA finalist list itself — a Los Angeles connection we’re especially proud of
- The Fashion Law column debut: what a first-year designer actually needs to file before their first collection ships
- The Launchpad department opens with a look at the incubators and accelerators that matter right now
- Beyond the Camera profiles: the pattern makers, sample makers and production coordinators making the current cycle work
Where we go from here
The Journal at journal.fashion4eleven.com/ will update weekly. The print quarterly will ship four times a year. The Weekly newsletter goes out Sunday mornings.
If you’re a designer, an agency, an educator, an attorney, an emerging model, a photographer, or somebody working somewhere behind the scenes making fashion happen — we want to hear what you’re working on and what you wish the industry publications actually explained. The Contribute page is open. Pitches are welcome. Nominations for the Emerging Talent File are welcome.
Fashion is an industry. We’re going to cover it like one.
Welcome to Fashion 4Eleven.
